Guidance for Indoor Services at Shadyrest Bible Church: 187 Crosswicks Chesterfield Road
We praise God that we have been able to meet outside for church and also worship virtually. As we transition to indoor church services, we realize there is a greater risk to spread COVID-19, so more stringent precautions are necessary. All precautions are derived from the CDC website or the New Jersey Department of Health’s recommendations. Please view this document as a draft that changes and adapts to changing health guidelines.
We care about you and your family. Please take time to review the CDC website to help you make a decision about whether or not it is safe for you to return to in-person services. The following individuals are categorized as high-risk, so please review CDC guidance carefully before making your decision:
We understand that not everyone will be comfortable returning, and we respect each person’s decision. We will continue to stream live, technology-permitting, each week. We appreciate all of you and are praying for our church family.
To allow for ample time to clean between services, we will be holding worship services over the summer on Saturday evenings at 5PM. Rows of chairs will cordoned off in order to promote social distancing and adhere to state guidelines.
Beginning July 11th, childcare will be offered for children three and under.
General Safety Measures and Reminders
Please do not attend if you are experiencing symptoms of illness including a fever, cough, chills, or any other symptom of a contagious illness.
Please do not attend if you have knowingly had contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 within the past two weeks.
Please take personal responsibility for yourself and your family.
All participants (excluding children under 2) are asked to wear masks while inside the church building.
Families or individuals should sit six feet apart from other family units. Rows will be marked off to help facilitate social distancing.
Follow posted signage keeping in mind that directional arrows may be on the floor, as necessary.
Offering baskets will not be passed from person-to-person.
Coffee and refreshments will not be served.
Commonly touched items such as pens and Bibles will not be available. Please bring your own.
While reasonable efforts will be made to create a safe and healthy environment, there is assumed risk in participating with a group.
Please be considerate of those who have differing comfort levels than you do.
We understand that our church family is eager to talk and mingle. For your safety and the safety of others, please exit the building after the service and talk outside.
With permission and guidance from the state of New Jersey as well as the CDC, we will begin offering childcare on July 11th. Childcare will only be offered during the 5:00 PM service, and adjustments may be made for August. Here are some updates, and more details and guidance from the CDC is listed below:
1. Childcare will temporarily be for children ages 0-3.
2. Only two volunteers will be in the nursery.
3. Volunteers are required to wear masks and gloves as well as have their temperatures checked using a touch-less thermometer.
4. Children’s temperatures will be taken upon entry using a touch-less thermometer. A fever will be considered as any temperature 99.6 or higher.
5. Children will wash hands immediately upon entry.
6. Please stay home if you or your child is sick.
We will also take the following precautions:
- Volunteers and children will regularly wash hands or use hand sanitizer
- Frequently touched surfaces and toys will be cleaned and disinfected
- Per CDC guidelines, we ask that children over two wear face coverings
Please review these guidelines with your children and practice proper prevention (such as teaching them to sneeze into their elbows or covering their mouths when they cough).
Thank you for taking the time to read through this document. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to safety guidelines as well as a different worship location.
